Make a gift so that children and families in need can experience the magic of live theatre at a North Carolina Theatre production.

Share the Stars is North Carolina Theatre's bridge from ticket holders, foundations and corporations to children and families who do not have the resources to attend theatrical productions. By providing free theatre tickets to nonprofit organizations serving children and families in need, North Carolina Theatre is able to invite children and families that would normally not be able to attend a musical due to financial limitations.

The Share the Stars program was designed to expose children in need to the unique American art form of musical theatre. We believe that the power and magic of the stage offers hope and possibility to area youth, particularly those who are in search of self-esteem and positive role models. Individuals, foundations and corporations can participate in this exciting program that offers complimentary balcony seats to matinee performances for our main stage productions. For every three $20 tickets purchased, North Carolina Theatre will donate one, providing a lifetime memory for a child. The donor's name will be acknowledged in the playbill.

For larger contributions, children benefit as follows:

$500 admits 25 children
$1,000 admits 50 children
$2,500 admits 125 children
$5,000 admits 250 children

This year we “Shared the Stars” with more than 1,400 children and families.  Recent Share the Stars recipients include Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Club, Building Together, Communities in Schools, Dorothea Dix Hospital, Haven House, Loaves and Fishes, Methodist Home for Children, NC National Guard Families, Oak Ranch, Passage Home, Red Cross, Ronald McDonald House, Step Up Ministry, TROSA and many more community groups.

“I just wanted to personally email you to thank you for helping us out with the tickets to Oliver.  I had the privilege of going on Saturday night and it was awesome to see the children perform.  It really means a lot when organizations such as yours reaches out to us.”
-Lori Tribby, TROSA

“Your GENEROSITY opened the eyes of these kids to a whole new world, allowing them to begin to see and experience that DREAMS they never even imagined ARE POSSIBLE. Although we rode down in an old activity bus, for a few hours this evening you turned their PUMPKIN into a GOLDEN CARRIAGE giving them the opportunity to ATTEND THE BALL, a memory that will stay with them forever! I couldn't go to sleep tonight without letting you know HOW WONDERFUL this experience was for these young people, many of whom rarely, if ever, travel more than 5 miles away from their home.”
-Cindy Clark, Oxford Music Teacher
